Experience Connectivity So Reliable, It's Spine-Chillingly Good.
A Secluded Retreat Takes an Unforeseen Turn
The campaign's narrative unfolds with actor Connor Storrie arriving at a remote, isolated cabin nestled deep within a forest. As he settles in to enjoy a quiet evening of cooking and script-reading, an unsettling sequence of events begins. The stereo mysteriously activates, lights flicker on and off, and the alarm system blares without explanation. Storrie's growing unease is amplified by a chilling, horror film-esque soundtrack, setting a foreboding atmosphere.
Unraveling the Mystery: The Butt-Dial Revelation
The suspense escalates when a knock at the door reveals a figure in a rain slicker, reminiscent of classic slasher villains, who identifies himself as Storrie's rideshare driver. A moment of bewildered confusion leads Storrie to check his phone, where he makes a startling discovery: he has inadvertently triggered all the strange occurrences—the music, the lights, the alarm, and even the rideshare request—through a series of accidental butt-dials. This comedic twist cleverly defuses the tension, shifting the narrative from genuine horror to lighthearted realization.
A Clever Tagline and Star Power Collaboration
As Storrie catches a glimpse of his reflection, bold red letters appear on screen, first proclaiming "The Best Butt," then "The Best Network," culminating in the impactful phrase "There's No Escape." Turning to the camera, Storrie delivers the campaign's memorable tagline: "Service so good, it's scary." Both Storrie and director Nia DaCosta lauded the collaborative creative process, with Verizon's CMO Leslie Berland praising the campaign's bold and unexpected approach to showcasing the network's strength. This marks the first brand film for Storrie and DaCosta's inaugural brand project, underscoring the innovative spirit behind this unique advertisement.
