The Enduring Legacy of Lola Cars
Lola Cars has long been celebrated for crafting some of the most dominant and aesthetically striking racing machines. Their vehicles have a rich heritage of triumphs, including multiple victories at the prestigious Indianapolis 500. After ceasing operations in 2012, the company underwent a revival in 2022, and is now honoring its illustrious past by recreating one of its most cherished designs: the T70.
Introducing the T70S and T70S GT: Dual Interpretations of a Classic
The resurrected T70 will be available in two distinct configurations: the T70S, designed purely for the race circuit, and the T70S GT, tailored for road use. Lola plans to produce an exclusive run of only 16 units, emphasizing that these cars represent a meticulous and authentic revival of a motorsports icon.
Unleashing the Road-Legal T70S GT
The T70S GT, designed for street driving, is powered by a robust 6.2-liter V8 engine sourced from Chevrolet, delivering an impressive 500 horsepower. This powerhouse enables the car to reach a top speed of 200 miles per hour and sprint from 0 to 60 mph in a mere 2.9 seconds. Beyond its raw performance, the T70S GT offers modern amenities such as climate control, practical storage solutions, and a specially adapted gearbox for an optimal road driving experience.
Dominating the Track with the T70S
For those seeking pure track exhilaration, the T70S variant features a 5.0-liter Chevrolet V8 engine, boosting output to 530 horsepower. This track beast achieves a top speed of 203 mph and an astounding 0-60 mph acceleration in just 2.5 seconds. Equipped with a period-accurate transaxle and a double-wishbone suspension system, the T70S also comes with an FIA Historic Technical Passport, qualifying it for participation in FIA-sanctioned events.
A Blend of Heritage and Modern Innovation
The development of the new T70S and T70S GT has been a meticulous process, meticulously referencing original archival blueprints. Lola has undertaken a comprehensive re-engineering effort for every component, incorporating sustainable materials and advanced manufacturing techniques to build these contemporary iterations of a timeless classic.
